3ET: Menus
The File menu
The “File” menu has these menu items:
- New exercise
- Creates a new exercise. Clicking this menu item brings up a list of all
installed databases. The user can then select which database to use for the
exercise.
- Load exercise... (Shortcut: CTRL+L)
- Loads an existing exercise for execution only (no editing). Exercises
have file names ending in
.3et.
- Edit exercise... (Shortcut: CTRL+E)
- Loads an existing exercise and allows editing.
- Save exercise (Shortcut: CTRL+S)
- Stores a modified exercise in the file from which it was loaded or in
which it was last saved. If the exercise is a new one, the user is asked to
specify where to store the exercise.
- Save exercise as...
- Stores a new or modified exercise under a new file name.
- Preferences (Shortcut: CTRL+P)
- Allows modification of the program settings.
- Copy sample exercises
- Copies the exercise examples included with 3ET into a folder chosen by
the user. A folder named
3ET will be created in the folder
chosen by the user.
- Exit (Shortcut: CTRL+Q)
- Terminates the program.
The Run menu
The “Run” menu has these menu items:
- Continuous (Shortcut: CTRL+R)
- Chooses random sentences based on the specified criteria. The sentences
are shown to the user one at a time.
- Generate question set (Shortcut: CTRL+G)
- Chooses random sentences based on the specified criteria. The sentences
can be saved in an XML file which can later be uploaded
to Moodle.
The Help menu
The “Help” menu has these menu items:
- User’s Guide (Shortcut: F1)
- Shows this user’s guide in a web browser.
- License
- Shows the 3ET license terms in a web browser.
- About
- Displays the program version.
