When typing Greek on a Latin keyboard, you can use these characters:
| Greek character | Type | Greek character | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| Α | A | α | a |
| Β | B | β | b |
| Γ | G | γ | g |
| Δ | D | δ | d |
| Ε | E | ε | e |
| Ζ | Z | ζ | z |
| Η | H | η | h |
| Θ | Q | θ | q |
| Ι | I | ι | i |
| Κ | K | κ | k |
| Λ | L | λ | l |
| Μ | M | μ | m |
| Ν | N | ν | n |
| Ξ | C | ξ | c |
| Ο | O | ο | o |
| Π | P | π | p |
| Ρ | R | ρ | r |
| Σ | S | σ / ς | s |
| Τ | T | τ | t |
| Υ | U | υ | u |
| Φ | F | φ | f |
| Χ | X | χ | x |
| Ψ | Y | ψ | y |
| Ω | W | ω | w |
The following table shows how to type diacritics (α and ι are used as examples, but other characters work as well).
| Greek character | Type | Greek character | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ἀ | )A | ἀ | a) |
| Ἁ | (A | ἁ | a( |
| Ὰ | \A | ὰ | a\ |
| Ά | /A | ά | a/ |
| ᾳ | a| | ||
| Ἆ | )=A | ᾶ | a= |
| ϊ | i+ |
Note that the diacritics are typed before capital letters but after small letters. The characters can be combined: If you type a)/| you get ᾄ, and if you type )/A you get Ἄ. A perispomeni (circumflex) accent ( ͂ ) on capital letters only occurs together with a spiritus (breathing mark); therefore =A does not appear on its own in the above table.
